Draft Minutes of the meetings of the Indo Iran Chamber of Commerce & Industry Delegation to Iran

Schedule : Dinner Meeting with Governor of Hamedan – Mr. Nikbakht

Discussion : Governor welcomed our delegation. Spoke about the old links between Indian and Iran. Stressed on the importance of increasing ties between two countries. He expressed his interest in inviting investment in Hamedan city’s tourisms sector. He also expressed flexible schemes in any investments made in Hamedan.

We invited the Governor to visit India.

Discussion : Signed anMoU for bilateral trade cooperation between Hamedan Chamber of Commerce and Indo Iran Chamber of Commerce.

Discussion : Welcome followed by introduction of the group. The SEZ team hosted 4 ambassadors of various countries to brief them of this opportunity, including India. Location is good, taxes are low. Manpower is widely available. Land is available at $30 sq. mt. Invited to start manufacturing here.

Discussion : Meeting was attended by Hassan Noorian. Spoke on Investment opportunities.

Discussion : Governor was not available and hence meeting was chaired by his deputy. Mr. Haqiqi, Director General of economic affairs invited interested applicants to invest in set up of hotels.

Schedule : Lunch Meeting at Negin House, Kashan

Discussion : Mr. Farzaneh, President of the Kashan Chamber of Commerce hosted the meet. Meeting was attended by Hassan Noorian. Spoke on Investment opportunities in agriculture. Highlighted the carpet and rose water industry of Kashan city. Stressed on the need to develop the Tourism industry as Kashan is an historic city with varied interests.

Schedule : Meeting with Head of county of Badrood, Mr. Sabari. Native town of Hassan Noorian

Discussion : Meeting was attended by :

Mr. Mohagigi, An Amercian National is a landlord of this area. Invited investments in real estate, low cost housing development projects. He said Hassan Noorian is Iran’s representative to India, but here he is a representative of Badrood.

Mr. Bagbayan – congressman for 3 consecutive terms. He said it’s the right time to visit Badrood as the fruits are ready. Agriculture is good opportunity here as Tehran is 2 hrs away and Esfahan is 1 hr away. Literacy rates are high.

Mr. Safari – Mayor of the city. Spoke about agriculture investment.

MassoodQasimi – Imam Jumaa of Badrod city. Spoke on the need of a good hotel for Imam zadeh Ali Mohammed haram as 3 million visitors come here each year. This haram has the largest dome in the West Asia.

Shafrazi – Mayor of Khabtabod (twin town of badrood)

Mahdi – Head of Agriculture section.
He explained that 90,000 hectares of land is under agriculture. 1500 hectares is growing Pomogranate. Water is very good. Good access to railways and roadways. I am willing to grant all permits ASAP. We have lots of natural resources. Herbal Medicine is also produced here.

Hassan Noorian – Pls invest here.

Najatian – Head of Mines
1200 tonnes of Granite and Iron Ore is extracted here. Steel is produced here and exported to Iraq and Turkey

Dr. Noorian (Hassan Noorian uncle) – He is setting up a Pomogranate juice plant here. 75% complete. Needs investment for the same. Best Pomegranates and Cucumbers here. Plan to produce upto 40,000 tonnes of Pomegranate here.

We invited the Governor to visit India.

Schedule : Meeting with Mashad Chamber of Commerce.

Discussion : Mashad is enroute CIS (Commonwealth of Independent states). Mashad airport has 180-200 flights daily. 10 years tax free incentive for import and export at SEZ. Easy to connect to Persian Gulf. We are ready to export and import from Karnataka state and guarantee no restrictions on this trade. We will publish trade figures every quarter. We are ready to hold and attend exhibition. We want to interact with IT and agricultural companies.

Some Mashad Chamber of Commerce members were introduced.

1- Large trading organization – They want JV construction in Iran. Hassan Muslim was GM, representing this company. It has 67 shareholders. Business interests are : Airports, Sewage, Mines, Geology, Oil, Fish and Animal Husbandry. We want FI to finance our projects.
2- Majeed Mohammed Nejad of Aryan Company. Member of the association of raw material building of Mashad. We wish to work with suppliers of India. The main trade is agriculture, Soya bean and fertilizer. We export Bitumen to Navashiva port. We have a company in India and our site is www.ariantrg.com
3- Keywani – MD of factory association of Iran. 450 factories are in our association. We want to export and import and participate in exhibitions.
4- Mr. Wafada – VP of association of Gold, Silver and Forex dealers. We have 2500 shops and 100 goldsmiths. 100 dealers of bulk gold. We deal with precious stones.
5- Gulam Hassan. Member of stone cutting association. 150 centers.
6- MasoodMehdizadeh – Dy. Of small industry Khorasan industrial estate. IT and BT companies are here. Responsible for small and big BT works. In 2013, 5913 factories were licensed. Out of this 5321 license were made under SME.86984 employees. Software is developed here. IT park is 17 Hectares.
